Best of Barrington-area dining on display at TasteFest

Fans of finer foods had the chance to taste some of the best the Northwest suburbs have to offer Thursday night, when the Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual Great Barrington Area TasteFest.

The event, expected to draw a crowd of more than 400 to the Marriott Northwest in Hoffman Estates, showcased both the old favorites and new creations from purveyors of food and spirits in the Barrington area.

Guests also had the chance to mingle with chefs, brewmasters, vintners and distillers, and enjoy the music of the Amy Yassinger Jazz Ensemble.

Attendees were asked to vote for several awards, including Best Taste, Best Entree, Best Spirit and Best Dessert.

A "Great Taste Gift Tree," with gift cards totaling nearly $500 to area restaurants and more were raffled off during the evening.
