Dogs model 'Howl'oween' costumes in Carol Stream

A black cat wouldn't cross this parade.

Canines only - in their Halloween costumes - strolled with their human companions Sunday in Carol Stream's Dog Park.

With prizes at stake, the pooches went for the cute, not the spook, factor in the park district's annual Howl'oween dog parade and costume contest.

Judges picked winners in categories that had dogs dressing after television and movie characters or, with their two-legged friends, vying for cutest couple.

And because modeling Halloween costumes is tough work, dogs were pampered with bobbing for Howl'oweenies and other treats.
