Marbles, Movado and more open at outlets in Aurora
More new stores continue to open in the recent expansion area of Chicago Premium Outlets in Aurora.
The latest openings bring educational toys and games, designer watches, gourmet gift baskets and diningware to the 688,000-square-foot outdoor discount mall.
Locations of Marbles the Brain Store, Movado Company Store, Harry & David and Corningware Corelle & More are the newest additions to the shopping area at I-88 and Farnsworth Road. Marbles, an educational game shop with locations in Chicago and Naperville, opened most recently.
The new shops join the lineup in a 250,000-square-foot addition to the outlet mall that opened in late August. Aside from spaces for 50 new stores, the $110 million project also features an outdoor plaza with a bright blue pond, art installations, guest services area, two restaurants and 2,200 additional parking spaces.
Among new stores that opened in August are the anchor tenant Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th and the first Midwest locations for Clarins skin care and clothing designer Robert Graham. Other new stores include Abercrombie & Fitch Outlet, Columbia Sportswear, Express Factory Outlet, Tommy Hilfiger Kids, UGG Australia and Vince. Shops such as Coach, Cole Hann, Guess Factory Store, Michael Kors, Nike Factory Store, Under Armour and Vera Bradley moved from original locations at the mall to larger shops in the new area, built east of the original outlets.
The expansion comes about a decade after the mall opened in Aurora, and it is expected to create about 300 permanent retail positions once all stores open.
The outlet mall expects more new stores to open before the holiday shopping season, including the first location in the region of German coat-maker Wellensteyn Outlet.
