Who makes Palatine's best pizza? Jaycees aim to find out

Who makes Palatine's best pizza? The Palatine Jaycees aim to find out, while also raising money to support good causes, at their annual pizza competition this weekend.

The event takes place from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Act. 18, at Durty Nellie's Bar and Grill, 120 N. Smith St. in Palatine.

More than 10 pizza restaurants that deliver to Palatine have been invited to compete. Artistic Cuisine, Gators Wing Shack, JL's Pizza and Sports Pub, Sarpino's Pizzeria, Boombalatty Flats, and Lou Malnati's are just a few of the restaurants that will be donating pizza to the annual community event.

Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children six years to 12 years old, and children five and under are free. Diners will be invited to cast votes for whose pizza is the best.

There also will be a 50/50 raffle and silent auction. All proceeds will go to the Palatine Jaycees to help in their projects that support the community.
