Teachers should put kids above money

I feel strikes should be prohibited when school is in session.

I get that unions make strikes legal, but they interfere with the education of the students. It's disappointing that in today's society, money controls everyone. No one does anything out of the kindness of their hearts anymore.

The teachers of McHenry aren't real teachers. Teachers don't go on strike for more money, because if teachers truly loved their jobs, it wouldn't be about money, but it would be about their love for teaching and making sure their kids are being taught right.

Teaching abroad in Third World countries doesn't pay at all, but there are still people dedicating their time to those children in need. Where are those types of people in Illinois? In the United States?

I feel teachers should place their kids' needs first, not only because these strikes compromise with one's education, but because these teachers knew what they'd be getting paid when they decided to go to college for this job.

If money is what they're looking for, maybe it's time to change their profession.
