Mundelein village hall sale delayed

Mundelein officials have opted to delay putting the old village hall on the market, choosing instead to wait until a new plan for the downtown area is developed, Village Administrator John Lobaito said. The building at 440 E. Hawley St. has been vacant since summer 2014. The new village hall at 300 Plaza Circle opened at that time. Officials have considered selling the old building, turning it into an arts center or finding other uses for the property, but they're leaning toward an eventual sale. Trustees discussed the future of the site during a committee meeting last week.
