Time to give up on the Sox

After more than 50 years, I am no longer a White Sox fan.

Hiring Robin Ventura as manager when he had no managerial or coaching experience was a weird experiment. Keeping him year after year when he showed no signs of learning or aptitude for the job is an insult to hardworking, loyal Sox fans who pay good money to watch bad, boring baseball.

The Sox need a manager who will inspire players to win. And they need a bilingual manager, since several of their best players speak only Spanish.

I've taken the White Sox license plate frame off my car. I've put my White Sox hats, jerseys, T-shirts, and other paraphernalia in storage. I've unsubscribed from their email list.

Will I return? Not while this crew is in charge.

To paraphrase Hawk Harrelson, "I gone."
