Hoffman Estates Domino's aims to promote fire safety

The Hoffman Estates Domino's, 2083 Barrington Road, and the National Fire Protection Association are teaming up with the Hoffman Estates Fire Department to promote fire safety during Fire Prevention Week Oct. 4-10.

On Thursday, Oct. 8, from 5-7 p.m., anyone who orders a Domino's pizza may be randomly selected and surprised at the door when their pizza arrives aboard a fire engine. If the smoke alarms in the home are working, the pizza is free. If the smoke alarms are not working, the firefighters will replace the batteries.

"Fire safety is extremely important," said Reece Arroyave, Hoffman Estates Domino's franchise owner. "We're very excited to partner with NFPA and the fire department for a program that not only promotes the safety of our friends and neighbors, but rewards those who make fire safety a priority."

This year's Fire Prevention Week campaign theme is "Hear the Beep Where You Sleep: Every Bedroom Needs a Working Smoke Alarm."

"Half of all home fire deaths result from fires reported between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m., when most people are asleep," said Hoffman Estates Fire Department Chief Jeffrey Jorian. "That's why having a fully functioning smoke alarm in every bedroom is so important. Smoke alarms save lives."

Customers can call Hoffman Estates Domino's at (847) 908-2100 to place their order and be eligible for the fire engine delivery.
