Business closing in Bloomington months after big layoff

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) - An aftermarket electronics repair company that laid off 320 workers from its Bloomington operations in February now plans to shut down those facilities.

Officials of Massachusetts-based ModusLink PTS say the decision will result in the elimination of nearly 170 jobs. The new job cuts will start in late September and finish by year's end.

The company said in a filing with the Indiana Department of Workforce Development that the closing decision was prompted by continued business losses.

The Herald-Times reports (http://bit.ly/1QX6FUi ) parent company ModusLink Global Solutions reported this year a 39 percent drop in revenue and increased operating losses.
