Walker's goal helps Grayslake Central past D-C

Boys soccer

Grayslake Central 1, Dundee-Crown 1: Nick Walker knocked in a rebound of Paul Kulis' shot off the post in the second half of the Fox Valley Conference crossover.

Dundee-Crown scored the equalizer minutes later. Conner Gosell made 9 saves in net for Grayslake Central (8-5-3), which hit another post before the match ended.

"My boys played great soccer for 75 minutes, and they did an excellent job of playing simple and quick possession soccer to create a good number of opportunities," Rams coach Tom Hamilton said. "Unfortunately, it was just one of those days where the ball wouldn't go in the net. Credit to Dundee-Crown for fighting back after going a goal down. We lost focus for just a few minutes, and a team of that caliber is going to make you pay for that. We put in an effort that we can take pride in, but this will teach us that we need to maintain that effort from the first whistle to the last."
