Apple Fest off to a delicious start in Long Grove

Long Grove's 23rd annual Apple Fest was blessed by perfect weather for its Friday opening that appears likely to hold over its three-day run. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.

This outdoor festival is for apple lovers of all ages and includes apple treats, big-name bands, later hours, shopping in the streets and stores, food stands, and a KidZone full of family entertainment.

Admission is $5, except for 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, when tickets are $8. Kids younger than 12 are free. For festival information, visit visitlonggrove.com or call the Visitor's Information Center, (847) 634-0888.
