Vernon Hills handles Lake Zurich

Aaron Castellanos scored twice, Joseph Lee had a goal and his 13th assist of the season, and Vernon Hills' boys soccer team beat Lake Zurich 3-1 in a North Suburban Conference crossover Monday.

Corey Takaoka also had an assist for the Cougars (7-5), who fought back from a 1-0 deficit.

"This was the best complete game we have played all season," Vernon Hills coach Mike McCaulou said. "We knew we had it in us, and today we brought if for the complete game. This was a huge win for our boys and program. When we play with this work rate, we are a tough team to contend with. We are so proud of our boys and hope this game set the bar for the rest of the season. Zurich is a very solid program and they play good soccer, so give credit to them tonight."

Brennan Reback made 7 saves in net for Vernon Hills.

Libertyville 10, Grant 2: Nathan Edmunds scored 3 goals, Luke Sanderson and Ryan Wittenbrink each scored twice, and the Wildcats cruised in the North Suburban crossover.

Libertyville (7-1) also got goals from Liam O'Connell, Ryan Bever and Kyle Hall. Jacob Rasmussen, O'Connell and Kevin O'Reilly each had a pair of assists. Tucker Goebeler, Pat Potts and Christian Long also had assists for the Wildcats.

Grant got goals from Jose Gordiano and Zach Kowalik, who was assisted by Rudy Frescas.

Stevenson 5, North Chicago 0: Jun Min had 2 goals, Avery Delgado added a goal and an assist, and the Patriots captured the North Suburban crossover.

Elliott Lueck and Kuzuki Niimi also scored for Stevenson (6-2). Steven O'Reilly contributed 2 assists, while Jake Nunez and Kai Mayahara also had assists.

Keepers Jeremy Klaber and Ethan Kalis each made 2 saves in sharing the shutout.

Warren 6, Wauconda 1: Ivan Esquivel had 2 goals and 2 assists, Alex Fratila also scored twice and added an assist, and the Blue Devils cruised in the North Suburban crossover.

Warren (1-2-1) also got a goal and an assist from Hugo Flores, and Matt Haight had a goal as well. Noe Rodriguez contributed an assist.

Antioch 4, Westosha Central 1: Aleksei Kushinikov and Jordan Keller each scored their first goal of the season for the Sequoits in their nonconference win.

R.J. Ruano and Zach Tholen also scored for Antioch (8-6). Luke Semitka, Krystian Nikolov and Danny Brito (14th) had assists.

Danny Brito now has 8 goals and 14 assists on the season.
