Aurora man charged with LSD possession

An Aurora man faces up to 30 years in prison after his third felony drug arrest over the weekend.

Kyle G. Sweezer, 25, of the 600 block of Fourth Street, was arrested Friday and charged with possession of 15 to 200 doses of LSD, according to Kane County court records.

Sweezer also faces misdemeanor charges of possession of 2.5 grams to 10 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, records show.

Sweezer was arrested after an investigation by the North Central Narcotics Task Force, a unit of the Illinois State Police.

State Police Master Sgt. Bill Backus, the director of the task force, could not be reached for comment regarding where Sweezer was arrested, how much LSD he possessed and the drugs' street value. No one else at the task force would comment.

If convicted of the most severe charge, the LSD allegations, Sweezer faces between six and 30 years in prison and probation is not an option.

Friday's arrest marks Sweezer third felony drug arrest in Kane County, records show.

He was arrested in March 2007 by Aurora police and charged with possession of a controlled substance. He later pleaded guilty and received two years probation, which records show he violated.

Sweezer also was arrested in August 2009 by Aurora police on charges of possession of 15 to 100 grams of Ecstasy. He pleaded guilty and received a prison term of five years and a $2,800 fine.

Sweezer is next due in Kane County court Sept. 18. He has been released from the Kane County jail after posting bond.
