No students on board as car hits school bus near Naperville North

A driver who struck a school bus from behind was the only person injured in a crash Monday morning near Naperville North High School, authorities said.

The bus was turning left from Ogden Avenue to head south on Mill Street about 8:10 a.m. when the woman hit it from behind, Naperville police Cmdr. Ken Parcel said.

No students were on the bus.

The woman, who was driving a Cadillac, might have run a red light before she struck the bus, Parcel said. She was taken to Edward Hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries and was expected to be released Monday.

The driver had not been ticketed Monday morning as Parcel said police are still trying to determine fault in the crash. Police did not release her name.

Police shut down part of the intersection for about a half-hour, but by 9:30 a.m., a tow truck had removed the Cadillac and police had cleared the scene.
