Breuder's side not getting told

I read with interest and approval your "Our View" article in Sunday's paper regarding the COD mud slinging. Very well said & fairly stated.

I have tried to follow this and make sense of it from the beginning, but feel that all we ever got was "her side." I cannot believe they would let Mrs. Hamilton keep up this persecution of Dr. Breuder, and make a spectacle of the school.

I have nothing to do with COD, but I know what badmouthing is. She makes a lot about the $743,000 buyout. Sure, it is a lot of money taken as a total, but everybody with a rudimentary knowledge of math can tell that that is approximately the salary he would receive for the remaining three years. So leave him alone and let him finish out. I doubt the lawyer for the board advised breaking the contract.

If the good people of Glen Ellyn think she will save them tax money, they are deceiving themselves.

She has probably spent already more on all those duplicate lawyers she hired than Dr. Breuder would get in the buyout.

There is something rotten in Denmark when she keeps documents from trustees McGuire and Birt. The people of COD and Illinois have a right to hear Dr. Breuder's side and learn what is at the bottom of this.

Dr. Breuder seems to be a refined and reserved gentleman and scholar who has done a lot for the school, but it isn't her style, and so she finds fault with it. Every CEO has his own style of doing things and should have the freedom to do so.

The whole thing looks fishy and planned.
