West Coast craft beers featured at Dundee 'Thirsty Thursdays' Aug. 27

On Aug. 27, cold crisp beers from breweries west of the Rockies will be offered at the third of four Thirsty Thursdays taking place from 5 p.m. until sunset at The Depot, 319 N. River St., East Dundee.

Craft beers from California and Colorado breweries will be available for visitors to sample and learn about the different varieties during the event. Breweries include California's Sierra Nevada with its offering of Nooner and Hop Hunter and Firestone Walker's Pivo Pils and Easy Jack. Colorado breweries include New Belgium with its Snapshot and Fat Tire, and Crazy Mountain with its Mountain Livin' and Horseshoes and Hand Grenades. Pricing is $5 for a flight of four, sample-sized beer tastings with additional purchase options. There will be eight different types of beer styles represented.

"The response to our Thirsty Thursdays has been great. There's no doubt that beer drinkers like the idea of trying out quality craft beers and we're only too happy to give them that opportunity," quipped Lael Miller, Village President of East Dundee. Thirsty Thursdays is part of an ongoing revitalization effort through the Discover Dundee campaign.

While savoring a unique, cold brew, visitors will enjoy the sounds of summer with live Caribbean music by the Mr. Myers Band as well as enjoy small plate offerings of food designed to compliment the craft beer selection. In addition and purely for fun, participants may choose to watch or participate in a pickleball or Rawlings bat demonstration.

All are welcome as no admission is required. The final Thirsty Thursday will feature European craft beers on Oct. 1. For more information, contact The Depot directly at (847) 426-2255 or visit discoverdundee.org.
