Winners named in Des Plaines Curb Appeal contest

The winners have been announced in Mayor Matt Bogusz's second annual Curb Appeal Challenge, a competition for the best and most improved front yards in town.

The home that won the Best Curb Appeal category is at 328 Oxford Road, and the Most Improved Curb Appeal winner is at 1122 E. Walnut Ave. The winners received $500 from sponsor Village Bank & Trust.

The contest had 92 entries, which were narrowed down to four finalists in each category by the Des Plaines Garden Club.

"I think the net effect is that not only are we showing pride in our neighborhoods, but we're celebrating some people," Bogusz said.
