Round Lake church celebrates back to school with backpack giveaway

Submitted by Choice Harris

On Aug. 1, Christian Faith Fellowship Church Round Lake distributed over 300 backpacks with school supplies.

This was their third annual Unity in the Community outreach event. Residents from the area enjoyed food, games, music and an inspirational message by Pastor Choice Harris, along with a Spanish interpreter, church member Sonia Sullivan.

Attending the event and helping serve the children was Little Miss Illinois.

The CFFC Round Lake church family and friends were honored to host this event. The excitement of the children and meeting the local families made it all worthwhile. But the primary purpose for hosting this back to school drive was to help the children start school with a healthy self-esteem and ready to learn.

The church thanks everyone that helped make this community outreach very successful.
