Prospect principal has always called Dist. 214 home
Michelle Dowling has spent her career preparing District 214 students for success. A graduate of John Hersey High School, Dowling taught at Buffalo Grove High School for 18 years before returning to her alma mater to become a division head in social science and foreign language.
In 2007, she took on the role of associate principal at Prospect High School. Five years later, she was tapped as the school's principal. Under her leadership, Prospect has seen significant growth in its Advanced Placement courses, implemented service learning and mentoring programs and received national and state recognition for its academic and fine arts programs.
In March, Prospect was named the IHSA 2015 Student Section Showdown Champion - an award honoring sportsmanship.
"The students are engaged, the parents are supportive and involved, and our staff is talented," Dowling said. "I couldn't be more honored to be part of the Prospect community."
