Dundee Township honors sacrifice during Memorial Day parade

Dundee Township commemorated the contributions of its veterans and honored those who were killed serving their country during the annual Memorial Day Parade along Main Street Sunday.

Parade highlights included marchers from Veterans of Foreign Wars Post Tri-City Evergreen Post 2298 in West Dundee and the Dundee-Crown High School Marching Band from Carpentersville.

Local ice cream shops also had a busy day, as customers clamored for cones to sample while watching the parade. Marchers also made sure the throng lining both sides of the street had a sweet time by throwing candy.
