Dist. 15 to dedicate Palatine school's track after late board member

Palatine Township Elementary District 15 will formally rename a track and field at Winston Campus in honor of late board member Rich Bokor.

District leaders will hold a ceremony 3 p.m. Tuesday before a track meet at the campus, home to an elementary and junior high school, 120 N. Babcock Drive.

A sign already has been installed, dubbing the complex the "Richard Bokor Field & Track." His family also will be donating benches.

Bokor, 66, a former Fremd High School history teacher and track coach who served almost six years on the board, died Jan. 4 from colon cancer.

Bokor pushed for the construction of a track and field at Winston, the only junior high in the district previously without one.
