Hill delivers again for Warren
Three days after hitting a pair of home runs, including a grand slam, Andrew Hill showed off his arm in a 3-1 win over Lake Zurich in North Suburban Lake Division action Tuesday.
Hill lost his bid at a perfect game in the seventh inning but still recorded his first no-hitter of the season. Warren (18-8, 6-3) committed 2 errors in the seventh, and Hill surrendered a walk.
Hill, a Bradley-bound right-hander, struck out 15 batters.
Michael Rosenberg (2-for-3) and Jake Falish (double) paced the Blue Devils offensively.
Wauconda 4, Vernon Hills 2: Kevin Malisheski earned the win in the North Suburban Prairie contest, striking out nine over 6 innings.
Vernon Hills threatened in each of the first four innings but had nothing on the scoreboard to show for it. Malisheski pitched out of bases-loaded jams in both the second and third innings.
Trevor Sefcik was 2-for-2 for Wauconda.
Wauconda scored all of its runs in the top of the fourth. Vernon Hills dropped a popup in shallow right field due to a miscommunication.
The Cougars clawed back by scoring 2 runs on hits from Joey Marras (2-for-4), Jack Duffley (1-for-4) and Matt Paszko (1-for-3, RBI). Brennan Reback (1-for-3) and Connor McNamara (1-for-3) also had hits in the losing effort.
Stevenson 19, Zion-Benton 3: Robby McGaha belted a grand slam in a 12-run first inning, as the host Patriots cruised in North Suburban Lake action.
Stevenson (17-7-1) hit for the cycle in the first inning.
Jake Nusinow pitched all 5 innings for the win, allowed 2 earned runs, striking out five, walking one and allowing 4 hits.
McGaha also doubled, as did Jimmy Marchese. Willie Bourbon, Tyler Vincent and Dylan Molek all tripled. Stevenson also received 2 hits apiece from Marchese, Carter Baretz and Patrick Loeffler (2 RBI).
Woodstock 12, Grayslake Central 4: Jay Hoffmann went 3-for-4 with a double for the Rams in their Fox Valley Fox Division loss.
Ben Fitzgerald (1-for-3) also doubled for Grayslake Central, while Anthony Fitzgerald (1-for-3) had an RBI.
