Elgin executive appointed to workforce board
Gov. Bruce Rauner appointed an executive with Bison Gear and Engineering to the Illinois Workforce Investment Board.
Sylvia Wetzel of Elgin is a vice president with the company tasked with "advocating for manufacturing careers with the general public," according to Rauner's office.
The board is tasked with advising Rauner on workforce policy, and Wetzel's post doesn't come with a salary.
Wetzel also serves on the Elgin Community College Foundation board.
Rauner has used his first 100 days in office to appoint Illinoisans to all kinds of administration posts and board seats as he looks to remake state government.
