Dundee Library to host history programs

The Fox River Valley Public Library District and the Dundee Township Historical Society are joining together to present free, informative programs in conjunction with National Preservation Week, April 26-May 2.

All programs will be held at the Dundee Library, 555 Barrington Ave. (Route 68) in East Dundee.

The programs begin on Wednesday, April 29, with "Create a Family History Scrapbook Page" at 9:30 a.m.

It continues on Thursday, April 30, with "Digital Photo Restoration" at 9:15 a.m., "Archival Storage of Photographs and Documents" at 10 a.m., and "Kane County Landmarks" at 11 a.m.

The week concludes on Saturday, May 2, with "Does Your Home Have a History" at 2 p.m. and "How Good An Ancestor Will You Be?" at 3 p.m.

There is also a free, downloadable guidebook with tips on preserving art, paper, glass, furniture, home videos, textiles, and more.

The library district serves 70,000 residents of Carpentersville, East Dundee, West Dundee, Sleepy Hollow, Gilberts, and parts of Algonquin.
