Maine District 207 moves into new administration offices

Maine Township High School District 207's administration offices have officially moved from Maine South to their new location next door in Park Ridge.

The school board a year ago this month approved a $2.1 million purchase of the 18,000-square-foot TMA office building at Devon Avenue and Dee Road, located just south of Maine South, to house the administration center and district alternative school program. The building once housed the district administration offices until it was sold to TMA in the early 1980s and the offices were moved to Maine South, which at the time had the district's smallest enrollment. Today, the school is the largest in the district.

The purchase of the TMA building last year was funded by proceeds of the previous sale of the same building and the sale of the former Maine North High School in 1981.

The district spent more than $1 million to renovate the facility. The alternative school moved in at the beginning of the year, after relocating from a leased space in Morton Grove.
