Two victories, southern style, for Grayslake Central

Grayslake Central's softball team picked up its first two wins of the season Tuesday.

Playing their first two games at the Walt Disney complex in Orlando, Fla., the Rams beat Springside (Pennsylvania) 11-1 and then defeated Dwight (New Jersey) 14-0.

Mundelein 15, Carbondale 4: On Monday, Maddie Zazas, Maria DeVito and Hannah Bulgart all homered, as the visiting Mustangs kicked off their Spring Break trip with a five-inning win.

Bulgart also doubled and finished 3-for-4, and Jamie Hemmer was 3-for-3 with a triple and double to pace Mundelein's 14-hit attack. Zazas, DeVito and Maggie Mahar (double) each went 2-for-4. Nicole Parney earned the win.

The Mustangs scored 10 runs in the second inning.

Mundelein (3-0) plays a doubleheader at Mattoon today at 4:30 p.m.
