Candidates boost Long Grove prosperity

Wouldn't it be grand if there were a "pot of gold" at the end of the rainbow, money we could use to pay for the wants and needs of our struggling communities?

As a CPA and Long Grove resident familiar with municipal budgets and finances, I support the candidates: Stan Razny, Steve Sintetas, and Charlie Wachs and their insight in increasing revenues through economic growth and upholding the Comprehensive Plan "no property tax" pledge.

Infusing life into Downtown Long Grove and the 83 and 53 corridor could bring in needed sales tax and TIF revenues without burdening the residents of Long Grove.

Long Grove operates on a $3.2 million annual budget and with Governor Rauner proposing a 50 percent reduction in the per capita tax this could evaporate $400,000 or 12.5 percent of the village's revenue.

Long Grove needs trustees who will seek new revenue sources, maintain transparency, and ensure each dollar is spent wisely and effectively. My vote will be going to the fiscally responsible team of Charles Wachs, Stan Razny, and Steve Sintetas, all successful businessmen with realistic and achievable plans that will take Long Grove to the "pot of gold."
