Record shows Founders modeled Christianity

This is in response to a recent letter saying this nation was not founded on Christian principles. Let's look at other quotes:

"I am a real Christian - that is to say, a disciple of the doctrines of Jesus Christ." - Thomas Jefferson.

"It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here." - Patrick henry "The Bible ... is a book worth more than all the other books that were ever printed." - Patrick Henry

"Suppose a nation in some distant region should take the Bible for their only law book and every member should regulate his conduct by the precepts there exhibited ... What a Utopia, what a Paradise would this region be!" - John Adams

"I have a tender reliance on the mercy of the Almighty, through the merits of the Lord Jesus Christ." - Alexander Hamilton

"You do well to wish to learn our arts and ways of life, and above all, the religion of Jesus Christ. These will make you a greater and happier people than you are. " - George Washington.

"Heavenly Father, May all revere Thee, and become the dutiful children and faithful subjects. May thy Laws be obeyed on earth as perfectly as they are in Heaven." - Benjamin Franklin

As for the statement about "I wish there would be no religion," well, Christianity is not a religion. It is a way of life. No rules, no regulations like religions. Simple: accept Christ's work on the cross for your redemption. It's the only so called "rule" in Christianity.
