Meet candidates at Elgin forums

The League of Women Voters of the Elgin Area is hosting candidate forums before the April 7 general election. For details, visit lwvelginarea.org or follow “LWV of the Elgin Area” on Facebook.

• The league's Rutland Dundee Committee invites you to participate in a moderated candidate forum for candidates running for Carpentersville village trustees and Elgin Community College trustees. The candidate forum will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 4, at the Carpentersville Village Hall, 1200 LW Besinger Drive. Three seats are open for Carpentersville trustee and two for the ECC board of trustees.

• Join in a moderated candidate forum for candidates running for Elgin mayor and the Gail Borden Library board. The forum will begin at 6 p.m. Monday, March 9, at the Gail Borden Public Library, 270 N. Grove Ave. in Elgin. Two candidates are running for Elgin mayor and six candidates are running for four seats on the library board.

• A moderated candidate forum for the candidates running for the Elgin City Council will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, at the Gail Borden Public Library, 270 N. Grove Ave. in Elgin. A total of four candidates will be chosen on the April 7 general election. You will be able to vote for four 4-year candidates from the 11 running. Visit lwvelginarea.org.

• The league's Rutland Dundee Committee invites you to participate in a moderated candidate forum for candidates running for East Dundee village trustees. The candidate forum will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, in the East Dundee Village Annex, 120 Barrington Ave. Four candidates are running for three open seats.

• The final candidates forum will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, at Gail Borden Public Library, 270 N. Grove Ave. in Elgin. They will be interviewing the candidates running for the Elgin Area School District U-46 board and Elgin Community College board. You'll be asked to participate in the question-and-answer section of the forum, so bring your questions.
