Is there a particular issue that motivates you, and if so, what is it?I am up for re-election and I hope to continue my service to the library to give back for all that it has given to me. When my children were younger we would go to the library every week. They loved participating in the programs and it brought reading into their lives at a young age. And they continue to be involved with the library and their joy for reading.If you are an incumbent, describe your main contributions. Tell us of important initiatives you've led. How long have you had it? How often do you use it?Yes , I do have a library card. I have been a Wood Dale library card holder all my life and I use it often.Space is an issue at many libraries. If that's the case at your library, would your solution be to expand the physical plant or make room by doing away with parts of the collection that technology has made less critical? Explain.Space is an issue but I would not do away with parts of the collection. I have visited other libraries, and I am proud of what we have to offer. And I feel we currently have a good balance.What impact have economic and technological changes had on libraries? How does a library remain relevant? How should its role in the community change?I believe with the technology changes and the economic conditions more people are utilizing the library, and all of it's resources.
