It is not making the easy choice to please some of the people. My job is to make the best decision for all the village. This goes for both the residents and employees alike. What is your opinion of your community's present level of local sales and property taxes? Is the tax just right, too low or too high? Explain.I believe our property taxes are at a fair level. We provide a lot of services for our residents. We currently do not have much sales tax revenue at this time. This has been a subject the current board has been trying to address in a number of ways.Rate the efficiency of your town's police and fire coverage. Are the departments well prepared for the next decade? What, if anything, should be changed? Do you have specific public safety concerns?Pingree Grove does not have our own fire department. However they are currently building a new firehouse on the north side of Route 72 and Reinking road which will service us and Rutland township. With this addition they are going have much greater coverage to service the township. Our Police department is fairly young but has a tremendous amount of experience. Starting with our Chief of Police all the way to the records clerk. Our department is in a new "green" building that was designed for the next decade in mind. I do not have any public concerns regarding our Police department at this time.Where, if anywhere, could the current budget be trimmed, and conversely, are there areas the budget does not give enough money to?We have been very lean on our budget the last few years in all our departments . With the help of the employees in the village they have all worked to reducing our budget as much as possible. To say that there is one specific area to be trimmed would not be correct. As I feel each department can look over and make improvements. This is a village wide effort. With that said I believe that with those savings they can be used to address other needs in each department. Which will allow them to run smoother and more efficient. What's one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?Candidate did not respond. What other issues, if any, are important to you as a candidate for this office?Candidate did not respond. Please name one current leader who most inspires you.Bruce RaunerWhat's the biggest lesson you learned at home growing up?No one is going to give you anything. You have to work hard to achieve your goals. If life gave you one do-over, what would you spend it on?I wouldn't change a thing!!What was your favorite subject in school and how did it help you in later life?Algebra, If you don't understand it. You have to work at it and figure it out.If you could give your children only one piece of advice, what would it be?Respect others and treat them like you want to be treated.
