If that's the case at your library, would your solution be to expand the physical plant or make room by doing away with parts of the collection that technology has made less critical? Explain. After carefully weighing the pros and cons, if possible I would suggest expanding the physical plant so we don't lose the history and regret that in the future. What impact have economic and technological changes had on libraries? How does a library remain relevant? How should its role in the community change? The library has to be a financial steward of the tax money that it has to spend in the best way possible. The technical changes assist the patrons to access the best information possible in the best format. The library has to keep step with any technological advances for the next generations. The library is a "go to" building or on-line as a reference source. What other issues, if any, are important to you as a candidate for this office? It is important that the Library board members spend the money available to help the largest number of patrons in the community it serves.
