Is there a particular issue that motivates you, and if so, what is it?I was encouraged to run for library trustee when a neighbor learned that I have an interest in serving the commmunity. Most of my neighbors want our officials to balance delivering public services with fiscal responsibility. I am committed to represent my neighbors and all those in the district to maintain this balance. If you are an incumbent, describe your main contributions. Tell us of important initiatives you've led. If you are a non-incumbent, tell us what contributions you would make.In my career as a business professional, I hope to use my skills in financial management, problem solving, and communication with constituents and other stakeholders.Do you have a library card? How long have you had it? How often do you use it?Yes, since our family moved to the district in 2001. We use the library frequently.Space is an issue at many libraries. If that's the case at your library, would your solution be to expand the physical plant or make room by doing away with parts of the collection that technology has made less critical? Explain.I will work with my fellow trustees to objectively analyze the needs of the community and determine the physical plant requirements of the district. If there is a good business case for expansion I would support it. If, however, an expansion increases the burden on taxpayers unnecessarily, I would look for other less expensive alternatives to solve the problem (i.e. technology). What impact have economic and technological changes had on libraries? How does a library remain relevant? How should its role in the community change?Communities like ours rely heavily on public services like libraries, especially during periods of economic downturn. The relevance of printed materials in the Internet Age has caused libraries to continuously reevaluate its core services and determine how to best meet the needs of its constituents. A library remains relevant by connecting people with resources, services and each other. What other issues, if any, are important to you as a candidate for this office? To represent the needs of all constituents, both those who are using the library actively and those who support it passively through tax dollars. Please name one current leader who most inspires you.Candidate did not respond. What's the biggest lesson you learned at home growing up?Candidate did not respond. If life gave you one do-over, what would you spend it on?Candidate did not respond. What was your favorite subject in school and how did it help you in later life?Candidate did not respond. If you could give your children only one piece of advice, what would it be?Candidate did not respond.
