Kane County Flea Market kicks off new year

Every inch of the 32,000 square feet of floor space in the Prairie Events Center in St. Charles was filled Sunday with old stuff for the new year.

Spring bargains were plenty since dealers at the Kane County Flea Market wrapped up their winter break for the first show of the season this weekend.

Tables and floor space were filled with new crafts and merchandise, as well as antiques.

"I love the vintage stuff," said shopper Lisa Michaels of South Elgin. "There is less plywood ducks and more French art here now."

The market normally is held on the first weekend of each month. Because of the Easter holiday, the next flea market will take place April 11 and 12 at the Kane County Fairgrounds location, 525 S. Randall Road. For more information or to become a dealer, call (630) 377-2252.
