Endorsements: Jarecki, Ridder, Tellez in Bensenville

Two slates of candidates are running for three open spots on the Bensenville Village Board.

Of the six running, two incumbents - JoEllen Ridder and Robert Jarecki - demonstrate particularly deep knowledge of the issues facing the village and deserve another term. They are endorsed.

For the last open seat, none of the four remaining candidates has demonstrated community involvement in the village that would raise the profile of one over the others.

Three of the candidates are running from one slate with much of their focus seemingly on O'Hare noise - an important issue but one that, in the past, dominated much of the time and resources of the village so it needs to be addressed with an effective balance of energy and care.

We endorse Luis Tellez. While he is concerned about the noise issue, we like his focus on the future and his willingness to find common ground on issues facing the village.
