Endorsements: Williams, Seminary, Chirinos, Murar for Round Lake Park village board

Six candidates seek the three 4-year spots on the Round Lake Park village board on April 7.

We endorse incumbent Patricia Williams for her experience on the board and for targeting upgrades to the Public Works Department and the downtown area. Former trustee Robert Seminary gets our endorsement for his past experience and vow to keep finances in order and to work with business owners. Newcomer Jerry Chirinos also receives our endorsement for his strong community focus, financial experience and commitment to follow through with projects.

Also running are James Moore, Arlene R. Rogalski and Cheryl Thomey.

For the unexpired two-year seat, we endorse incumbent Scott Murar. Though a trustee only since November 2014, Murar is immersed in his community with public safety as a top priority. Challenger Rosa Patino is committed to improving the business district and providing activities for the youth.
