Dist. 96 board member resigns

A Kildeer-Countryside Elementary District 96 school board member since 2003, Robert Gauthier resigned his seat last week, saying he's ready to look for new ways to contribute.

Gauthier, a finance committee member and chairman, worked with Assistant Superintendent for Business Services Jon Hitcho in developing the district's financial strategy both short-term and long-term, among many other contributions.

"His decisions were carefully considered, reflecting the perspective of an informed, seasoned board member committed to doing what he believed was best for our students and faculty," said Board President Marc Tepper.

Residents of District 96 who want to apply for the vacancy are asked to submit a letter of interest and an application.
