Four charged in break-in near Gurnee

Lake County sheriff's police say four men have been charged after a reported home invasion in an unincorporated area between Gurnee and Waukegan, and a fifth person is wanted for questioning.

Deputies were dispatched at 9:50 a.m. Wednesday on a report of the home invasion on the 12000 block of Harrison Avenue. The caller provided a vehicle description to the dispatcher at the Lake County Communications Center, who broadcast it to responding deputies.

Not long after the dispatch, a deputy noticed a vehicle matching the description at Stearns School Road and Dilley's Road in Gurnee, then caught up to it as its male driver pulled into a driveway on the 5300 block of Conifer Lane.

Two men ran from the vehicle and into the surrounding subdivision, according to sheriff's police. They eventually were captured by sheriff's deputies and Gurnee police officers. Two others were detained at the scene.

All four men were charged with home invasion, residential burglary, unlawful use of a weapon by a street gang member, and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon. They are: Jose L. Villegas, 28, and Pablo F. Calix, 19, both of Park City, and Javier Montes, 21, and Eduardo Solis-Marcelo, 26, both of Waukegan.

All four remain in the Lake County jail pending a bond hearing Thursday morning.
