Healthy Lombard promotes 'Just A Minute' of exercise Feb. 12

The Healthy Lombard Foundation was selected by JAM to be the Illinois state leader to spread the word about "Just A Minute" of exercise on Thursday, Feb. 12.

JAM Day for JAM World Record is a first-of-its-kind physical activity campaign created to rally everyone to pause wherever they are at 10 a.m. their local time to take a quick fitness break to promote the importance of making physical activity a lifelong daily habit.

Healthy Lombard founder and board President Jay Wojcik said the organization is honored to spread the word.

"The purpose of JAM fits perfectly with our mission to provide awareness (and) activities, and (to) celebrate achievements that address the epidemic of childhood obesity and promote a healthy lifestyle for everyone," Wojcik said.

"We are so excited to be participating with thousands of schools and millions of people from all around … This campaign has the unique ability to bring people together for a common purpose and shared goal."

Healthy Lombard wants to get Illinois noticed by encouraging everyone to share the news about JAM with everyone they know, especially through social media, and invite them to register their support at jamschoolprogram.com/jamday. The site also provides sample video exercise routines that can be downloaded for free.

Participants are encouraged to share their photos with Healthy Lombard by sending a copy to jay@healthylombard.com. The photos will be posted on the Healthy Lombard website and Facebook page.
