Hanover Park man gets 8 years for heroin death

A Hanover Park man has been sentenced to eight years in prison on his guilty plea to a charge of drug-induced homicide in the death of a 15-year-old Bartlett boy on July 10, 2013, prosecutors said.

Nolan McMahon, 20, of the 2200 block of Cinema Drive West, will get credit for the time he has spent in jail awaiting trial since his arrest in August 2013.

McMahon was accused of twice selling heroin to John Dudek in the hours before he fatally overdosed inside his Bartlett home. Investigators identified McMahon through text messages, witnesses and an informant, prosecutors said.

McMahon was sentenced on Jan. 23.
