Proud to Be a Pirate

February dinner auction to feature Jim Cornelison, Blackhawks anthem singer

The Palatine High School Pirate Booster Club presents "Proud to Be a Pirate," the group's 31st annual dinner auction fundraising event, from 6-11 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, at The Cotillion Banquets, 360 S. Creekside Drive, Palatine.

Proud to Be a Pirate" will begin at 6 p.m. with a special guest appearance featuring Jim Cornelison, Chicago Blackhawks anthem singer, along with Burton "Sarge" Showers, a World War II veteran and Fred Hall, a Vietnam Era Veteran. Cornelison will sing both the American and Canadian national anthems at the event.

The event will continue until 11 p.m. featuring dinner, silent and live auctions, the wall of wine cork pull, the boozter wagon, and a 50/50 cash raffle. New attractions at this year's event will include the senior pirate corner, a grub grab, and marquee madness.

Through the generosity of booster members and community supporters, the auction items available at this year's event provide something for everyone. From a vacation stay in Treasure Island, Florida, to winning a personal chef for an evening to prizes donated by local businesses, attendees are sure to find something of interest among the auction and raffle items.

Tickets to athletic events include two sets of Blackhawks tickets, Bulls tickets, and several sets of Cubs tickets, including one group of seats behind the dugout area. Entertainment ticket options feature shows such as Craig Ferguson, Kenny Chesney and Jason Aldean, Frankie Valli, Buddy Guy, and renowned a cappella sensation Pentatonix.

According to Corporate Contributions co-chair Ann Lawrence, "The PHS Pirate Boosters are honored to welcome our special guests along with several local dignitaries at the dinner auction. We are anticipating a record turnout this year and look forward to raising funds for our Palatine High School students."

Tickets to the dinner auction can be purchased online at www.Events.org/PirateDinner. Special early bird pricing of $55 per person is available through Jan. 31. Beginning Feb. 1, tickets will be $60 per person. The "Proud to Be a Pirate" event is open to all. You do not need to be a member of the booster club to attend.
