Rosemont snow tubing hill staying open through March 1

Rosemont's four-story snow tubing hill will remain open through March 1 in the village's entertainment district, officials announced Tuesday.

Warm weather caused the hill, named Polar Peak, to be closed for some time after its opening last month.

The hill was assembled by Maine-based StackBox Structures using shipping containers and truss systems. It features five distinct lanes, including a less steep lane for younger children, and a 260-foot run. Tickets are $20 per hour.

The adjacent NHL-sized rink in MB Financial Park also will remain open through March 1, with free ice skating only available on Sundays due to the ongoing Winter Frost Face Off hockey series.
