Barrington Township's Dawson wins state honor

Barrington Township Supervisor Gene Dawson has won the Township Supervisors of Illinois' Robert L. "Bob" Turner Award.

The award is given by the president of the Township Supervisors of Illinois to a supervisor who shows the same attitude and work effort of former Belvidere Township Supervisor Bob Turner.

"Gene has worked tirelessly to update the Township Supervisors of Illinois By-Laws, as well as selecting members to the TSI Board," said Supervisors Division President Dave Dobbels.

Dawson said he was honored just to be mentioned in the same sentence as Turner, who was a friend of his.
