Van drives into retention pond in Round Lake Hts.

A minivan drove through a grassy area outside the Round Lake Heights Police Department and into a retention pond Monday afternoon, fire officials said.

The van with one occupant went into the pond about 4:40 p.m. The situation was not weather-related, and one person was taken Advocate Condell Medical Center, fire officials said. No further information was available Monday night.
