Trial set for Villa Park man accused in fatal arson

A Villa Park man accused of setting a July 22, 2012, fire in Lombard that killed his former girlfriend is set to stand trial Nov. 3.
Todd Mandoline, 25, is charged with first-degree murder, aggravated arson and criminal damage to property in the death of Paula Morgan.
Mandoline is accused of torching Morgan's car after he was removed from a party celebrating her 25th birthday. The flames spread from the car to Morgan's home through an attached garage, killing her and critically injuring her friend, 25-year-old Jason Cassidy of Villa Park.
