Suicide prevention luncheon:
The Lake County Suicide Prevention Task Force will host a special luncheon open to the public from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, as part of Suicide Prevention Week. The event is designed to recognize the three years the task force has been in operation and to bring together members in the community who have been affected by suicide or attempted suicide. The event in the third floor boardroom at the Lake County Health Department, 3010 Grand Ave., will include free food, presentations, and a session on how to identify and help potentially suicidal people. Reservations are required by Sept. 3 by calling (847) 377-8297.
