5 things to do this weekend in the suburbs

Unpack your “Star Wars” stormtrooper suit or slip on a cape: Wizard World Chicago Comic Con arrives this weekend in Rosemont, The convention, a celebration of comic books and all things sci fi, is a huge draw, but the weekend offers more subdued fun as well — from a wine fest in Naperville to a rarely performed musical in Lincolnshire. Fan-fare: Comic book fans, sci fi lovers and the like will converge at the Wizard World Chicago Comic Con 2014 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, 5555 N. River Road, Rosemont. Among the celebrity guests will be William Shatner and the cast of “Star Trek: The Next Generation.” Tickets are $60 Saturday and $50 Sunday. Grape expectations: More than 300 wines will be available for tasting at the 12th annual Naperville Wine Festival at City Gate Centre, 2135 CityGate Lane, Naperville. The event also features food from local restaurants, music, wine seminars and more. Adult tickets cost $35 at the door. Sister act: Sister explains the finer points of Catholicism in the comedy “Late Nite Catechism” at the Raue Center for the Arts, 26 N. Williams St., Crystal Lake. $30-$35. (815) 356-9212 or rauecenter.org. 3 and 8 p.m. Saturday.

Balloons, baseball and more: The 2nd Annual Color Aloft Balloon Festival features hot air balloons, music, food vendors and even a Civil War-era baseball game. Going to ‘Town': Three sailors hit “New York, New York” on 24-hour shore leave in the musical “On the Town” at Marriott Theatre, 10 Marriott Drive, Lincolnshire. Tickets $40-$48. (847) 634-0100 or marriotttheatre.com. 4:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday and 1 and 5 p.m. Sunday.
