Aurora man killed, girlfriend wounded in early morning shootings
A 20-year-old Aurora man was killed and his girlfriend wounded in an early morning shooting Saturday, Aug. 16, that police believe was gang related.
Nathan Gonzalez, of the 700 block of Superior Street, was shot in the back of his head and pronounced dead on the scene, according to Aurora police. His girlfriend, also 20, was taken by paramedics to a hospital with gunshot wounds to her knee and hand.
Aurora police were called to the 700 block of Superior Street at 2:25 a.m. and discovered the couple inside Gonzalez's car.
According to police reports, two men, wearing dark clothing and hooded sweatshirts, entered the car and, after a short conversation, opened fire on the couple. They fled the scene heading north, police said.

An autopsy on Gonzalez is pending.
