Milwaukee District North train kills pedestrian
An outbound Metra train on the Milwaukee District North Line struck and killed a pedestrian just before 5 p.m. between the Morton Grove and Golf stations, Metra officials said.
Metra train 2127 left Chicago at 4:16 p.m. and was due in Deerfield at 5:10 p.m.
About 4:50 p.m., the train hit the pedestrian near Beckwith Road, Metra spokesman Michael Gillis said.
Inbound trains started moving again around 6:30 p.m., while outbound trains were stopped until shortly after 7 p.m.
The death remains under investigation, Gillis said.
