3 men rescued after capsizing in Lake Michigan

Chicago fire authorities say three men have been rescued after their sailboat capsized in Lake Michigan.

A fire department spokesman tells the Chicago Sun-Times two 63-year-old men and a 50-year-old man were bound for Monroe Harbor on Tuesday night. A 46 mph gust capsized the 19-foot sailboat around 8 p.m.

The spokesman says fire department crews were already on the lake. They anticipated that many boats would try to return to the harbor due to incoming storm clouds.

He says all three men were wearing life preservers and refused hospital treatment.
